ORCAA is proud to be part of the U.S. AI Safety Institute, which launched today. The Institute, led by NIST and supported by over 200 partner organizations, aims to set standards and develop tools to mitigate the risks and harness the immense potential of AI.

This fall, ORCAA and global law firm DLA Piper co-hosted a conference on the use of BISG and other race-inference methods in fairness testing for algorithms. It was exciting to convene a diverse mix of practitioners, policymakers, and researchers around this important topic. We learned a lot and are happy to share a summary paper from the day.
